What is your opinion on tipping? I always tip (usually 10% to 15% of the bill, sometimes more for exceptional service) in restaurants that do not include a service charge - if the service charge is included within my bill it will depend how much % has been charged, and how good the service was, and I always tip in cash, never via the 'alloted space' on the credit/debit card stub (in my experience this never gets to the staff, as intended!), I often tip when leaving an Hotel, by leaving money for the chambermaid/housekeeper, I also 'round up' when using a taxi, and occasionally (when service merits it) will include bar-staff when purchasing a round of drinks. Do you tip all the time? Do you only tip when you receive excellent service? Or do you never tip?

Its about four years since i have seen or heard a milkman on his rounds...apart from at the beginning of Easties or Corrie where the float goes down the Square/Street.... We havent got one in the area I live in any more, and although it is cheaper to buy from the supermarket, I miss the milkman and hearing the sound of his float and the clink of milk bottles while i am still half asleep. I miss having milk in bottles too, rather than in plastic containers. Our milky used to always have bread with him in case you had run short, and cream, pop , even spuds. Used to like his ring on the bell Friday evening to get paid and have a cheery word or two. It is sad to see this tradition dying out - does it still exist where you live?
