I prefer Christmas, since I´ve never really enyoyed scary movies...

As a nurse I am sick of people complaining about the health service. I hate how the media always focuses on the negative from super-bugs to vermin on wards, but never highlights any of the positives. I worry that all this negative press makes people scared to go into hospital for necessary treatment, and their anxiety makes the whole recovery process longer. Yes, there are problems, but I think the same problems would arise in privately owned hospitals too and I think that private health care would only serve to make things worse for those on low income.

Of course we should keep the NHS. Horror stories will always scare people away. Although people do have a right to know when something they are paying for is not up to scratch, the only reason but journalists blow these stories up the way they do is that it sells better than a simple statement of truth.

However bad the NHS is or is reported to be, I doubt private medical facilities would be much better and at least you don't getsaddled with a bill for thousands of pounds after you get out.
