We recently decided (or should I say, my partner recently decided to let me) to get a small dog. However, on making enquiries to local rehoming centres, I've discovered that the people who go there and take a dog the same week are actually few and far between- I've not yet found a dog that would be suited to us- it would be coming to work with me (perk of the job) so needs to be well socialised with other dogs and I look after a 2 year old so it needs to be good with under-5's.

I'm not keen on the idea of going through a large organisation as I know at least 5 people who have had a bad experience adopting a dog this way. One was told that his dog was cat tested and was fine. Said dog then proceeded to eat his cat approximately 2 weeks later. I'm not totally against the idea- just not so keen.

I'm just finding that small dogs are very hard to find in rehoming centres and was wondering if any of you are adopters of animals and how did you find the process?

I've been doing more excersise on the EA Sports active and the Wii Fit but my weight seems to be going up and my clothes seem to feel tighter. I'm not eating more due to the more activity- in fact I'm trying to eat slightly smaller portions so why am I gaining weight?

It's kind of annoying to know I'm trying really hard and I appreciate that the weight gain may be due to muscle mass getting greater but if I'm burining more calories, and therefore more fat, why are my jeans too small? It's really getting on my nerves!

Does anyone have any idea at all why this might happen?

I have this problem. My partner says that when you do exercise the fat turns to muscle and muscle weighs more than fat. Apparently (though it hasn't been proved on me yet) If you carry on you will eventually start losing the weight as long as you don't do too much muscle making activity

I realise this may be a bit of a narrow discussion topic as some of you may not know who they are- those that do, do you think it's fair that more venues haven't booked Mr Big for the reunion tour? As soon as I saw that they were actually going to play over here at all, I was straight on the phone to my other half to book me 2 tickets, but then I realised, there must be more people who would want to see them than can actually go?

It's also kind of nice that it's on a saturday as anything I want to see is usually on in the middle of the week which means it's a major pain.

Do you think it's fair that only people within reach of london should be able to go, and do you think venues should do more to accommodate those that have to travel? Please remember that it's often the case that the band do not choose where they play

Was never that fussed about Mr Big, so I'm not bothered either way.

I am kind of surprised that they are still together, and that enough people still remember (care about?) their one hit song to give them even a day.....

I suppose if a band is coming over then London would be the first venue - being the biggest city, and the main hub - unless there's a particular event - like Blackfoot playing one of the biker-fests. At least it's on a Saturday, so it's more do-able?

There are times when smaller bands don't play London (cost of venue?) and getting out to wherever they do play on a weekday can be tough.....
